Asbestos Roof Solutions knowledge and experience assists building owners to address Asbestos in the workplace issues.
At a site in Milperra in Western Sydney, we were able to assist a building owner to comply with the directives of a building report received from his insurance company, with regard to the condition of the buildings fibro asbestos roof.
The insurance company prior to reinsuring, directed the owner to provide compliance with the recommendations of reports on the condition of the roof surface. Tests showed that the asbestos roof surface had broken down and asbestos fibres were being released into the environment.
The photograph of the gutter line at the building shows bundles of asbestos fibre, (confirmed by a NATA registered facility).
In these situations there are really only two choices available to a building owner and that is to remove and replace the roof or encapsulate the roof with an encapsulation coating.
In this instance the owner went with the encapsulation alternative for a number of reasons.
The first was cost, at the present time they are unable to afford the removal.
Secondly the owners plan to demolish the building within the next 7-10 years and develop the land, so they did not want to over capitalise on their investment.
