ASBESTOS ROOFS CAN BE REPAIRED.
Following recent days of high winds in Sydney, an asbestos roof in Turrella near the Kingsford Smith Airport, sustained damage to parts of the roof which impacted the employees and production at the facility.
The main damage was caused by two asbestos bull nose roof sheets being blown backwards into the roof above and smashing through the skylight windows. The result was, in effect, an explosion of broken glass and asbestos roof sheet into the building.
This photograph shows part of the damage.
Asbestos Roof Solutions were approached to assist, to see if the roof could be repaired and the facility put back into service.
The asbestos was removed according to the regulatory requirements and deposited at an asbestos accepting waste facility.
The same profile roof sheet was supplied and installed as well as alternative skylight panelling installed.
The internal clean up was carried out by a specialist asbestos clean up company and the affected area given a clearance certificate.
